Yvonne E. Wolinski, 84, of Farwell, died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2022, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Mass of Christian of Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Farwell. The Revs. Vince Parsons and Tom Ryan will concelebrate the Mass. Burial will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery near Farwell.
Visitation will be Wednesday at the church from 5 to 7 p.m., with a 7 p.m. Rosary.
In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials are suggested St. Anthony’s Church, St. Anthony’s Cemetery or the Farwell QRT’s and Fire Department.
Peters Funeral Home of St. Paul is assisting the family.
Yvonne was born on May 10, 1937, at Loup City, the daughter of Leo and Kate (Larkowski) Lukasiewicz. She attended country school, St. Anthony’s parochial school and graduated from Farwell High School.
She was united in marriage to Ernan R. “Ernie” Wolinski on Feb. 4, 1957, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Farwell. The couple lived and farmed near Farwell, later moving into town.
Yvonne loved her large family. She also enjoyed music, having been the organist and singing with St. Anthony’s Men’s Choir from 1955 until 2019. Sewing was another favorite pastime which she began in 1954. She sewed not only for her family, but for many people in the Farwell area, and did so until the end of her life.
Yvonne drove school bus for 30 years and had worked at the Hobby House in St. Paul, American Legion Club in St. Paul, Howard County Medical Center in St. Paul and was a bartender in Dannebrog.
She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and its Council of Catholic Women.
She is survived by her children, Maury Wolinski and Lori Wozniak of Farwell, Marla and Mark Mason of Elba, Michelle and Larry Woitalewicz of Farwell, Cory and Kare Wolinski of Elba, Shelly Wolinski of Elba, Chad and Kellie Wolinski of Victoria, TX and Ken and Tammy Wolinski of Aurora; 14 grandchildren, April Lentz, Michael Wolinski, Hilary Galvan, Trevor Knecht, Melissa Latture, Adam Woitalewicz, Dakota Wolinski, Cash Wolinski, Derek Wolinski, Nikki Timmons, Ciera Wolinski, Lexie Wolinski,Tyson Wolinski and Brayden Wolinski; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ernie on Sept. 21, 2008; daughter, MaKayla Wolinski; son, Kyle Wolinski; sister, Irene Lukasiewicz; and brothers, Raynold Lukasiewicz and Daniel Lukasiewicz.
