Trudie S. Aeppel, nee Gertrud D. Klempien, 85, of Loup City, died Friday, Dec. 25, 2009, at the Rose Lane Home in Loup City.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 4, 2010, at St. Josaphat’s Catholic Church in Loup City. The Rev. Marty L. Egging will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Loup City.
There will be no visitation. Mrs. Aeppel requested that her body be cremated.
Peters Funeral Home of Loup City is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Aeppel was born on March 4, 1924, in Flensburg, Germany, the daughter of Arnold and Katherine (Schnoor) Klempien.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hans H. Aeppel.
She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Detlev and Iris Aeppel of Wesley Chapel, Fla., Patrick and Pamela Aeppel of Palm Harbor, Fla., and Timothy and Glyn Aeppel of Westport, CT.
She is also survived by four grandchildren.
Trudie received her education in Germany.
She was united in marriage to Hans H. Aeppel on July 25, 1950, in Flensburg. They immigrated in 1954, with their first born son, to the United States and settled in Loup City. Two more sons were born to this union.
The family moved to Florida in 1967 and Hans and Trudie returned to Loup City upon retirement in 1989.
Hans died on April 4, 2001. Trudie continued to live in Loup City the rest of her life.
She was a member of St. Josaphat’s Catholic Church in Loup City.
