Rosemarie Morrow

Rosemarie Morrow, 72, of Broken Bow, died Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, at the Golden Living Center of Broken Bow. Memorial services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Peters Funeral Home in St. Paul. The Rev. Ray Kosmicki will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Ord City Cemetery. Mrs. Morrow was born Aug. 21, 1941, at Neunkirchen (Saar), Germany, the daughter of Johann Wilhelm and Ottilin (Otto) Lenz. She is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Ralph and Nellye Morrow of Arkansas City, Kansas, Anton and Tamy Morrow of Elba and Patrick Morrow of Elba; a sister, Elke Bruxmeier of Germany; and a brother, Wolfgang HoBbach of Germany. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Carrie and Mike Keene, Donald Morrow, Jackie Morrow, Justin and Sarah Morrow, Kyle and Rose Marie Morrow, and Joseph Morrow; and 8 great-grandchildren. Rosamarie grew to womanhood and received her education in Germany. She met Jack Morrow while he was serving in the U.S. Air Force. She came with him to the United States and they were married on Nov. 7, 1960, at Smith Center, Kansas. The couple lived in various places while Jack worked in construction, later moving to the Cotesfield and Elba area. She became a U.S. Citizen in 1977. She worked for several years at “Shirley's Diner” in Elba. In 1980, she moved to Broken Bow, where she worked at the Sandhills Manor as a nursing assistant for 33 years, until her retirement. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, canning and reading. She also loved watching the History Channel on TV and tracing her family genealogy. She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-father, Helmut HoBbach; and an infant son, Donald Kenneth Morrow. Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
