Rosalyn D. “Babe” Bartlett, 73, of St. Paul, died Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2009, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009, at Peters Funeral Home in St. Paul. The Rev. Jerry Quandt will officiate. Private family inurnment will be held prior to the services at Westlawn Memorial Park Columbarium in Grand Island.
There will be no visitation. Mrs. Bartlett was cremated.
Mrs. Bartlett was born on April 8, 1936, in Merrick County, near Worms, the daughter of Alfred and Esther (Trampe) Wagner.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Bartlett on Jan. 5, 2009.
Immediate survivors are a step-son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Beth Bartlett of Grand Island; a step-daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Kelly Adelson of Hastings; and a brother and sister-in-law, Harlan and Claudette Wagner of Des Moines, IA.
Other survivors include four granddaughters, Megan and Abby Bartlett and Emily and Claire Adelson; and two nephews and their wives, Doug and Lorri Oakeson of Hastings and Dave and Julie Oakeson of Brush, CO.
She attended grade school at Zion Lutheran School in Worms and District No. 41 at St. Libory. She graduated from St. Paul High School in 1954.
Babe worked for North Western Public Service Gas Company in Grand Island and North Western Bell Telephone Company in Grand Island, Norfolk and Omaha until retiring in 1990.
She was united in marriage to James W. “Jim” Bartlett on March 22, 1986. The couple moved to St. Paul in 1988.
She was a member of Carl Mogensen American Legion Auxiliary Unit 119 of St. Paul and the St. Paul Country Club.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Eugene “Bud” Oakeson.
In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials are suggested to the Howard County Community Hospital Foundation or to the family’s choice.
