Regina M. Moraczewski

Regina M. Moraczewski, 90, of St. Paul, died Friday, Feb. 3, 2012, at the Heritage Living Center in St. Paul. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in St. Paul. The Rev. Ray Kosmicki will officiate. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the church, with a 7 p.m. vigil service and Catholic Daughters service. Peters Funeral Home of St. Paul is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Moraczewski was born on Aug. 14, 1921, at Elba, the daughter of Edward and Sophie (Graczyk) Pysczynski. She was united in marriage to Dominic A. Moraczewski on Nov. 25, 1941, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Elba. He preceded her in death on March 15, 1997. She is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Arnold Moraczewski and Kathy Moan of Aurora, CO and Jerome and Candy Moraczewski of Cochranville, PA; three daughters and sons-in-law, Adeline and Allen Kusek of Littleton, CO, Janice Moraczewski and Mark Easter of Fort Collins, CO and Janell and Bill Meyer of Lincoln. She is also survived by five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Regina grew up on the family farm northwest of Elba and attended Howard County Rural School District No. 21. She then helped her parents on the family farm. After her marriage to Dominic, the couple farmed near Ashton until 1977, when they moved to St. Paul. She then worked at Abel's Nursing Home in St. Paul. After Dominic died, she continued to live in her home until 2006, when she moved to Matelyn Retirement Community. In Jan. 2009 she moved to Heritage Living Center where she lived the rest of her life. She was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and its Council of Catholic Women. She was also a member of Catholic Daughters Sacred Heart Court of St. Paul and volunteered at the St. Paul Senior Center. She and Dominic were longtime members of St. Francis Catholic Church in Ashton, before moving to St. Paul. Regina enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, gardening, canning, flowers and playing cards. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Tim Kusek; and one sister, Barbara Panowicz. Memorials are suggested to Sts. Peter & Paul New Parish Hall Fund.
