Oscar D. Orellana, 69, of St. Libory, died Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016, at CHI Saint Francis in Grand Island.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in St. Paul. The Revs. Jorge Canela and Rayappa Konka will officiate. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Peters Funeral Home in St. Paul.
Oscar Danilo Orellana was born on Feb. 19, 1947, at San Nicolas, Santa Barbara, Honduras, the son of Luis Garcia and Maria Orellana.
Oscar was raised by his Aunt Maria and grew up in Honduras. He later came to the United States and worked at various jobs.
He was united in marriage to Donna (Ring) Kleier on May 15, 2006, at Central City. The couple made their home in St. Libory. He became a United States citizen on Dec. 19, 2008. He retired from JBS Swift in 2011.
His hobbies were fishing, gardening and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Donna of St. Libory; three daughters, Perla Orellana of St. Libory, Jesslie Orellana of Honduras and Suyapa Orellana of Honduras; one son, William Orellana of Texas; 8 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 8 step-children; 30 step-grandchildren and 20 step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his Aunt Maria; and one son, Danilo.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
