Mark A. Porter

Mark Alan Porter, 61, of Omaha, formerly of Elba, passed away on December 28^th, 2023. He was born on September 8, 1962, to Derrel J. and Regene A. (Kuszak) Porter at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, NE. He graduated from Elba High School in 1980. Shortly thereafter, he enlisted in the United States Army where he spent four years. Mark relocated to Omaha where he worked for the US Post Office for over 30 years until his retirement in 2019. Mark enjoyed playing golf and watching the Nebraska Cornhuskers and Seattle Seahawks play football. Mark is truly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by brother Gary Porter of Elba, NE and his children Michelle Obermeier and Jason Porter; brother Dan Porter (Carol) of LaVista, NE and their sons Nicholas and Ryan Porter; sister Christine (Porter) Myers (Delton) of Papillion, NE and their daughter Kacie Lindeman and son Nate Myers; as well as, great nieces and nephews.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents.

Private family services will be held at Peters Funeral Home in St. Paul with Rev. Vince Parsons officiating. Inurnment will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Elba with graveside military honors provided by Carl Mogensen American Legion Post 119 of St. Paul and the United States Army Funeral Honors Team.
