Loretta M. Woitalewicz, 90, formerly of Ashton, died Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2017, at the Rose Lane Home in Loup City.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Josaphat's Catholic Church in Loup City. The Rev. Richard L. Piontkowski will celebrate the Mass. Burial will be in the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery in Paplin.
Visitation will be one hour before time of the Mass, with a Rosary being recited at 9:30 a.m., all at the church.
Peters Funeral Home of Loup City is assisting the family.
Loretta was born on Aug. 22, 1927, on the family farm north of Ashton, the daughter of Stanley and Wanda (Gappa) Woitalewicz.
Loretta attended District No. 22, Sherman County rural school. She lived with her parents until their deaths and then continued to live in Ashton. In Sept. 2005, she moved to the Rose Lane Home in Loup City, where she lived the rest of her life.
Over the years, Loretta babysat for multiple area families, hung wallpaper for many people and would pick up and deliver mail to local people that were unable to leave their homes. She was always willing to help anyone in need.
Loretta loved people, animals and music, was a great cook and baked very good bread. She loved to pray for people and loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She touched many lives.
She was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Paplin.
She is survived by a sister, Janet Morrow of Loup City; and a sister-in-law, Loretta Woitalewicz of Ashton.
She also leaves to cherish her memory, nieces and nephews and their spouses, Patricia and Mark Kamler of Loup City, Carla and Mike Wilson of Hildreth, Mark and Kerri Morrow of Ashton, Jean and Dan Kolar of Lincoln, David Woitalewicz of Ashton and Linda and Doug Jensen of Wausa.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ernest Woitalewicz; and a niece, Darlene Morrow.
Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
