LaVonne C. Juhl, 70, of St. Paul, formerly of Phoenix, AZ, died Saturday, Oct. 31, 2020, at Brookefield Park in St. Paul.
LaVonne was cremated. The family will hold memorial services and burial in Minnesota, at a later date.
Peters Funeral Home of St. Paul is assisting the family.
LaVonne was born on March 1, 1950, at Grand Forks, North Dakota, the daughter of Leonard J. and Kathleen M. (Coyer) Violette. She was raised in Minnesota where she received her early education. She then attended Mankato State University and later the University of Nebraska – Lincoln.
LaVonne found a very rewarding career in elementary education. She was an elementary teacher in the Phoenix area for a number of years before retiring.
In 2017, she moved to Grand Island, to be near her daughter. In 2019, she moved to Brookefield Park, where she lived the rest of her life.
She enjoyed camping, fishing, golfing, kayaking and gardening. She loved to hit the open road and travel and dearly loved time spent with her grandchildren.
She is survived by a son, Cliff Juhl of Scottsdale, AZ; a daughter, Angie Obermiller of Grand Island; six grandchildren, Natasha, Addison and Alivia Juhl and Miranda, Michael and Charlotte Obermiller; and one sister, Carol Cushing of Colorado.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Verna Hawkinson.
