Kenneth J. “Kenny” Wozniak, 60, of St. Paul died unexpectedly, Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at St. Paul.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in St. Paul. The Rev. Ray Kosmicki will officiate. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul.
Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the church.
Peters Funeral Home of St. Paul is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Wozniak was born on June 13, 1953, at St. Paul, the son of Synfred J. and Margaret M. (Kezeor) Wozniak.
He is survived by his wife, Lori Wozniak of St. Paul; two daughters and one son-in-law, Alanna and Cesar Wozniak-Galvan of Greeley, CO and Hilary Nevrivy of Grand Island; his mother, Marge Wozniak of St. Paul; and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Karen and Mike Kreis of Doniphan and Annette and Roger Ogard of St. Paul.
He is also survived by two grandchildren, Johanna Galvan and Andres Galvan; his mother-in-law, Maryann Nevrivy of St. Paul; two brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law, Tom and Jane Nevrivy of Fort Collins, CO and Mike Nevrivy of Hastings; and his beloved dog, Judy.
Kenny lived with his family in St. Paul and later on a farm near Boelus. As a young boy the family returned to St. Paul where he attended Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic School and graduated from St. Paul High School in 1972.
After graduation he began working for Chief Industries in Grand Island for the next 10 years and then worked for T.O. Haas Tire in St. Paul for 4 years.
He married Joy Dugan at St. Paul in 1978. The couple later divorced.
He was united in marriage to Lori A. Nevrivy on Oct. 7, 1995, at St. Paul. Kenny worked for the Farwell Irrigation District beginning March 7, 1986, until the time of his death. For many years he also enjoyed farming and raising hogs at his “South Pork Ranch” on the edge of St. Paul.
He was a lifetime member of St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and longtime member of St. Paul Country Club.
Kenny was an avid outdoorsman that loved hunting, fishing and gardening. He also enjoyed golfing and bowling for many years. He was a friend to many and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Johan D. Wozniak; his father, Synfred J. “Fred” Wozniak who died on April 10, 2014; and his father-in-law, Edward Nevrivy who died on July 12, 2013.
In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials are suggested to the family.
