Mrs. Schwenk was born on June 4, 1933, at St. Paul, the daughter of Einar and Marie (Rasmussen) Rasmussen. She was united in marriage to Marvin M. Schwenk on March 20, 1954, at the United Methodist Church in St. Paul.

She is survived by her husband, Marvin of St. Libory; one son and daughter-in-law, Russell and Becky Schwenk of St. Libory; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Bill Rehder of Florence, OR and Sue and Ron Bailey of Council Bluffs, IA; three brothers and four sisters-in-law, Ivan and Erma Rasmussen of St. Paul, Don and Marie Rasmussen of Hastings, John and Linda Rasmussen of Grand Island and Joyce Rasmussen of Lincoln. She also leaves to cherish her memory, three grandsons, Matt Rehder of Seattle, WA, Cody Murphy of Ames, IA and Max Schwenk of St. Libory.

Kathy grew up on a farm in the Fairdale area north of St. Paul where she attended country school and graduated from St. Paul High School in 1951. She then taught school in the Fairdale area for one year and then worked as a switchboard operator for the telephone company. After she and Marvin were married the couple farmed northwest of St. Libory. Kathy worked right alongside her husband for their many years of farming. They later moved to a home southwest of St. Libory to enjoy their retirement. For the past three years she has resided at the Howard County Medical Center in St. Paul.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women in St. Paul and the Red Hat Society Ladies of St. Paul.

Church and family were very important in Kathy's life. She loved her grandsons and enjoyed traveling. She was always willing to try anything and was a very positive and loving person.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-father, John McClelland; and a brother, Stanley Rasmussen. Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
