Jean L. Jepson

Jean L. Jepson, 76, of Boelus, died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2015, at her home. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Grace United Methodist Church in Boelus. The Rev. Cat Love will officiate. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the church. Peters Funeral Home of St. Paul is in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Jepson was born on Sept. 14, 1939, at St. Paul, the daughter of Carl and Lillian (Johnson) Erickson. She was united in marriage to Jim M. Jepson on May 14, 1961, in St. Paul. She is survived by husband, Jim of Boelus; one daughter, Shelley Jepson of Des Moines, IA; one son and daughter-in-law, David and Christy Jepson of Doniphan; and one brother, Russell Erickson of Houston, TX. She also leaves to cherish her memory, two grandsons, Ryan and Collin Jepson of Doniphan. Jean grew up in St. Paul where she received her education and graduated from St. Paul High School. After she and Jim were married they lived in Grand Island, where she worked as an accountant for many years. In Nov. 1999, the couple moved to an acreage near Boelus. Jean courageously battled cancer for the past 16 years of her life. She was member of Grace United Methodist Church of Boelus and the Third City Archers. She was also a past member of the National Field Archery Association and the National Archery Association. Jean enjoyed archery and crossword puzzles and loved being with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Pat Erickson. Memorials are suggested to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Foundation.
