James J. Reimers, 27, of St. Paul, died unexpectedly Thursday, Oct. 11, 2018, at his home.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 19, 2018, at Christ Lutheran Church in St. Paul. The Rev. Thomas Clark will officiate. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul.
Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Peters Funeral Home in St. Paul.
James was born on Sept. 30, 1991, at Grand Island, the son of Carolyn K. Reimers and Daniel R. Luciano.
James grew up in St. Paul and attended St. Paul Public School. In 2009, he graduated from Penn Foster High School and had also taken classes through Penn Foster College.
He volunteered at St. Mary's Cathedral in Grand Island, the Parks and Recreation Department for the City of Grand Island and for Head Start.
His son, “JoJo” was his whole world. He loved watching his son play flag football and loved being around all children. He also loved his dog, Shadow. James was a very kind and caring person.
He is survived by his son, Joseph “JoJo” Reimers of St. Paul, his parents, Carolyn Reimers and Daniel Luciano of St. Paul; his grandmother, Carol Reimers of St. Paul; as well as, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Joseph Robert Reimers; grandparents, Robert Reimers and Abelino and Juana Rivas; a special great aunt, Inez Hancock; and special great uncles, John Reimers and Louis Luciano.
In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials are suggested to the family.
