Erma M. Hemmerling, 91, of Franklin, formerly of St. Paul died Thursday, May 29, 2008, at the Golden Living Center in Franklin.
Private inurnment will be held at the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Grand Island. There will be no visitation, as Mrs. Hemmerling was cremated.
Peters Funeral Home of St. Paul is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Hemmerling was born on Sept. 25, 1916, at Worms, the daughter of Herman and Emma (Petzoldt) Hasselmann.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Hemmerling in May 1988.
She is survived by two step-sons and their wives, Gale and Donna Hemmerling and Gene and Darlene Hemmerling, all of Beloit, Wisconsin.
She is also survived by 6 step-grandchildren and numerous step-great-grandchildren.
Erma grew up and received her education in the Worms area.
She was united in marriage to John A. Hemmerling on May 17, 1952, at Kearney. The couple lived in Grand Island, later moving to Beloit, Wisconsin. In 1979, they retired and moved to St. Paul.
Erma had resided at the Golden Living Center in Franklin for a number of years.
She was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Ramona Lockwood; a step-grandson, Gregory Hemmerling; one sister, Helen Anderson; and five brothers, Herman, Ernie, Chris, Alfred and Carl Hasselmann.
