Donna F. Plugge

March 29, 1930 — September 16, 2015

Donna F. Plugge, 85, of Elba, died Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2015, unexpectedly at her home. Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, at the Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall in Grand Island. Steven D. Schreiner and Jeff J. Morro will officiate. Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Peters Funeral Home in St. Paul. Private family inurnment will be at a later date in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery near O'Neill. Mrs. Plugge was born on March 29, 1930, at Colome, South Dakota, the daughter of Orville W. and Dora (Stein) Elshire. She is survived by four sons and two daughters-in-law, Blaine Partridge of North Loup, Joe and Vicky Partridge of Ord, Phillip Partridge of North Loup and Luke and Janet Partridge of Scottsdale, AZ. She also leaves to cherish her memory, seven grandchildren, Michaela Partridge, Cami Holmes, Austin Partridge, Derek Partridge, Briana Partridge, Joshua Payne and Ashley Partridge; and two great-grandchildren, Kayden and Ellie Holmes. Donna grew up and received her education in O'Neill and North Loup and attended the Grand Island Business College. She worked as a telephone operator in Tulsa, OK , where she also did some modeling. Later in life she preferred working outdoors and riding horses. This included riding pens at feedlots and at sale barns, moving cattle. She was a hard worker that could do anything. She did everything possible to raise her four sons. Donna was a very strong and independent woman that dearly loved her sons and her grandchildren. She loved family gatherings and enjoyed performing skits with her grandchildren. Donna's deep faith was a very important part of her life. She was a member of Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall in Grand Island. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Vivian Peterson and Thelma Lashley; and one brother, Don Elshire. Memorials are suggested to the family.
