Dolores A. Wardyn

Dolores A. Wardyn, 70, of Loup City died Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008, at the Jennie M. Melham Memorial Medical Center in Broken Bow. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Josaphat’s Catholic Church in Loup City. The Rev. Marty Egging will officiate. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Loup City. Visitation will be Sunday at the church from 5 to 7 p.m. with a 6 p.m. vigil service. Peters Funeral Home of Loup City is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Wardyn was born on Oct. 28, 1937, on the family farm north of Ashton, the daughter of Edward and Rose (Bonczynski) Lubash. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald S. Wardyn. She is survived by one daughter, Diane Wardyn of Loup City; two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Cindy Wardyn of Broken Bow and Dennis and Donna Wardyn of Loup City; and one sister, Loretta Woitalewicz of Ashton. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Andy, Bradley, Natalie and Zoe Wardyn; and one step-granddaughter, Sydney Wardyn. Dolores attended parochial school in Farwell and later Howard County rural schools. She was united in marriage to Donald S. Wardyn on April 29, 1961, at Farwell. The couple farmed near Arcadia, Ord and Loup City. Mr. Wardyn died on Jan. 5, 1984. She then worked as a housekeeper for several families in Loup City and she and her daughter, Diane ran a lawn mowing business in the Loup City area. She was a member of St. Josaphat’s Catholic Church and its Council of Catholic Women. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, raising flowers and spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Al Lubash; and one brother-in-law, Ernest Woitalewicz. Memorials are suggested to the family’s choice.
