Dolores M. Eiberger, 90, of St. Paul, died Thursday, March 8, 2018, at the Monarch Hospice House in Lincoln.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 16, 2018, at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in St. Paul. The Rev. Rayappa Konka will celebrate the Mass. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 15, 2018, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the church, with a 7 p.m. vigil service.
Peters Funeral Home of St. Paul is assisting the family.
Mrs. Eiberger was born on Sept. 12, 1927, at Ord, the daughter of Aloysius J. and Elizabeth L. (Benben) Greenwalt.
She grew up in the Ord area, graduating from Ord High School in 1944 at the age of 16. She then taught country school for three years in the Valley County area. She later attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, where she received her degree from the Teachers College in 1950. She taught school at Hawthorne Elementary in Lincoln and later at a country school near Palmer.
She was united in marriage to Maurus J. Eiberger on Nov. 25, 1950, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Elyria, Nebraska.
The couple lived for over 60 years in St. Paul where they farmed and raised their family.
Dolores grew up with music – her father was a fine accordion player and member of the Greenwalt family band, which played for many wedding and barn dances in the Ord area. She played the piano and eventually became a church organist for Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church for almost forty years. She played for many local weddings and funerals. She was an active member of the church, Council of Catholic Women and Catholic Daughters. Dolores also enjoyed Extension Club, gardening and being involved in 4-H for many years. She loved her children, visiting friends and family, and cooking delicious meals. She was born a happy spirit and lived a grace filled life to the end.
Survivors include her children and spouses, Anne and Paul Wolfe, Maury Eiberger, David Eiberger, John Eiberger, Ron Eiberger and Dann Kee; and one sister, Rita Lliteras of Grand Island. She was also blessed by seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Maurus J. Eiberger who died on June 1, 2011, she was preceded in death by her parents; and son, Dr. James A. Eiberger.
