Diana G. Edmonds

Diana G. Edmonds, 65, of Stromsburg, died Saturday, May 5, 2012, at the Kearney County Long Term Care in Minden. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Peters Funeral Home in St. Paul. The Rev. Robert Carlson, Jr. will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul. Ms. Edmonds was born on March 11, 1947, at Toledo, Oregon, the daughter of Eugene "Bud" and Marjorie (Parks) Harris. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Terri Edmonds of Milton, FL; two daughters, Lawauna Wix of Kearney and Lorena Edmonds and Robert Miller of Minden; her mother, Marjorie Carkhuff of Lebanon, OR; and one sister, Tami Johnson of Lebanon, OR. She is also survived by her special friend, Gordon Headlee of Stromsburg; 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Diana grew up in Toledo, Oregon and attended school in Newport, Oregon. She was united in marriage to Daniel Edmonds on Jan. 12, 1970, at Carson City, Nevada. The couple first lived in Carter Lake, Iowa, later living in Doniphan, Grand Island and finally St. Paul. After the death of her brother, David Harris in 2004, Diana moved to Stromsburg. She enjoyed genealogy, collecting stamps, ceramics, reading and being on the computer. She was preceded in death by her father, Bud Harris; her step-father, Walt Carkhuff; and her brother, David Harris. Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
