Dawsyn C. Rother, 13, of St. Paul, died Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at his home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wolbach. Vicar Marcia Dorn will officiate. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery in Wolbach.
Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the church.
Peters Funeral Home of St. Paul is in charge of the arrangements.
Dawsyn was born on Oct. 20, 1999, at St. Paul, the son of Jess D. and Staci L. (Sidel) Rother.
He is survived by his parents; one sister, Devyn Rother; two brothers, Daltyn and Damyn Rother, all of St. Paul; grandparents, Myron and Donna Rother of Wolbach, Gary and Linda Lassen of St. Paul and Jim and Dixie Sidel of St. Paul; great-grandparents, Richard and Lavonne Nielsen of St. Paul and Do Kaelin of Grand Island.
He is also survived by aunts and uncles, JaLena and Cris Slack of Seward, Joell and Troy Knaub of Laramie, WY, Jillyn and Steven Klein of Wolbach, Jason and Kelli Sidel of Draper, UT, Jessi and Kyle Tebo of Lincoln, Amy and Perry Pelc of Adams and Travis and Misty Sidel of Bellevue; and many cousins and friends.
Dawsyn grew up in St. Paul and attended St. Paul Public School, where he had just completed the 7th grade. He was active in football, basketball, golf, trap shooting. He was also involved in FFA and played baritone in the band.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Wolbach, where he was baptized and confirmed.
Dawsyn was a great singer and dancer and loved fishing, hunting and farming. He was a kind, polite, respectful and hard working young man. Dawsyn had a heart of gold!
In lieu of flowers and plants, the family encourages memorials to the family's choice.
