David J. Woitalewicz, 44, of Loup City, died Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2009, near Hickman, as a result of a motor vehicle accident.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Josaphat’s Catholic Church in Loup City. The Rev. Marty L. Egging will officiate. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Loup City.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the church, with a 6 p.m. vigil service.
Peters Funeral Home of Loup City is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Woitalewicz was born on April 25, 1965, at Loup City, the son of Irvin E. and Jeri L. (Bals) Woitalewicz.
He is survived by his parents of Loup City; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Chris and Brad Wichmann of Palmer, Joanie and Dana Samuelson of Palmer and Judi and Mike Baker of St. Paul.
He also leaves to cherish his memory, 11 nieces and nephews, Tyler, Shayla, Spencer and Chet Wichmann, Chase, Chad, Emily and Erik Samuelson, and Marissa, Kaleb and Layne Baker; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Dave grew up on a farm north of Loup City and attended Loup City Public Schools. He graduated from Loup City High School in 1983 and attended Mid Plains Community College in North Platte where he received a degree in diesel mechanics.
He lived in Loup City where he farmed with his dad as well as other area farmers, most recently for Jim Obermiller.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Herb and Bernice Bals and Bill and Venice Woitalewicz.
He was a member of St. Josaphat’s Catholic Church.
He enjoyed raising and working with cattle and visiting with friends and family.
