Daryl E. Becker, 72, of St. Paul died unexpectedly, Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2025, at his home.
Daryl chose to be cremated with no formal services. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date at the Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul.
Memorials are suggested to the St. Paul Fire Department or to the First Presbyterian Church Annual Community Thanksgiving Meal.
Peters Funeral Home of St. Paul is assisting the family.
Daryl was born on Feb. 9, 1952, at St. Paul, the son of Elmer H. and Anna M. (Gregory) Becker.
He attended St. Paul Public Schools and graduated from St. Paul High School in 1971. He then worked at Third City Livestock in Grand Island, which was owned and operated by his parents. He later worked at Case New Holland, Platte River Byproducts and retired from FSI Filter Specialists Inc.
He returned to St. Paul and farmed with his father and later cared for his mother. Daryl loved to drive around town to see what was going on.
He was a true history buff, enjoying war movies and the History Channel. He was also an avid reader and loved attending gun and air shows with his nephew, Nathan. Daryl also loved to dine out, especially at the Skyline Café in St. Paul and the Danish Bakery in Dannebrog for their pizza.
He is survived by his son, Justin Ryan Becker; siblings and their spouses, Penny Crowley of Boulder, CO, Debra and Roy Rasmussen of St. Paul and Mike and Linda Becker of St. Paul; eight nieces and nephews, Scott, Sheila, Lisa, Michael, David, Lindsey, Nathan and Nicole.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Angel Dawn Becker; brother, Steven Becker; and brother-in-law, Dennis Milby.
