Brenda J. Olin

Brenda J. Olin, 74, of St. Paul, died Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at Brookefield Park in St. Paul. Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Arnold Cemetery in Arnold. The Rev. Chelsea Newton will officiate. Peters Funeral Home of St. Paul is assisting the family. Brenda was born on Oct. 12, 1942, at Arnold, the daughter of Archie and Irma Lea (Phifer) Geiser. She grew up in Arnold where she attended Arnold Public School and graduated from Arnold High School as the class salutatorian in 1960. She was active playing volleyball for four years and participated in track and cheerleading. She was united in marriage to Noel G. Olin on June 3, 1961, at the United Methodist Church in Arnold. The couple first lived in Wauneta, where Noel taught English and literature in the high school for two years. In 1963, the couple moved to St. Paul, where Noel taught for 38 years. Over the years Brenda worked at Citizens Bank & Trust, Havlik's Market and at the St. Paul Country Club. Brenda loved her birds, dogs, wildlife and her home in the country with the beautiful view of the North Loup River. She supported Noel in every way with his teaching and coaching. She is survived by two sisters and brothers-in-law, Geraldine and Clark Sauer of Gladstone, MO and Rickie and Steve McKnight of Albuquerque, NM; sister-in-law, Marilyn Geiser of North Platte; nieces and nephews; high school classmates, Mary Andre, Jane Tucker, Sulin Best and Linda Cox; and good friends, Carolyn Foster of St. Paul and Rosalie Barker of North Platte. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Noel G. Olin on Sept. 6, 2009; brother, Bob Geiser; two infant brothers; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Jackie and Maurice Scott and Frances and Marion Scott. Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
